Student Dress Code

To ensure that student dress and grooming does not interfere with the learning environment at East Port Orchard Elementary, we appreciate your support in helping us by following the dress code below:

• No hoods in the building. Hats must allow staff to easily see a student’s face. Hats and accessories can be confiscated if they become a distraction to the learning environment.
• Open toed shoes, flip-flops, high heeled, platform, or shoes without back/heel strap may not be worn. Be mindful that playground woodchips can pierce foam soles.
• Clothing with inappropriate messages, i.e. alcohol, tobacco, drugs, violence or sexual in nature are not allowed.
• Bare midriff and undergarments should not be showing.

School will notify parents if a child arrives with inappropriate dress. In some cases parents will be asked to bring appropriate clothes to school.
