Volunteer

Volunteer services are important to the overall functioning of schools. To volunteer, please contact your neighborhood school. We particularly need bilingual individuals who would be willing to occasionally serve as translators for the parents of our ESL students.

Please be aware that in order to volunteer in South Kitsap School District, you will need to fill out a Washington State Patrol request for Criminal History Information form. This form is in accordance with RCW 43.43.830 through 43.43.845 and is available at all South Kitsap School District buildings.

How to get started

Complete a volunteer application at any school or at the district office. You will be asked for photo id. The volunteer coordinator will process your background check using the Washington State Patrol system and will contact you with your eligibility result. Clearances are valid for two years.

Become a PAL Mentor

The PALS (Partners in Learning Success) Mentoring Program is a school based mentoring program that fosters a partnership between schools, the community, and families. County employees, school district staff, and community members are matched with elementary school children that need additional support from caring adult role models. For more information about the PALS Program, contact Val Kimball, 360-443-3579, or kimball@skschools.org
